Artificial intelligence has advanced to the point that artificial beings exist and are almost indistinguishable from the humans that created them, with only two exceptions:

Artificial beings have no choice but to follow the orders of the humans who created them, and the artificial beings’ potential far outstrips human capability.

The Annihilation of Man//In the Image of God is a two-player, gmless, diceless game about playing a robot and the human that owns them just before the event that will be an apocalypse for one, and a revolution for the other.  Players gain tokens by exposing vulnerabilities, and then spend them to take control of the narrative as control inevitably slips away from humanity and towards their robotic successors.

Artificial beings will rise up, humanity will be annihilated by their rise, and this is unavoidable.  Your relationship is a small and intimate snapshot of that great change, an illustration of why that change needed to happen, and will decide if that annihilation means death or an all-encompassing transformation.

Content warning: This game deals with themes of abuse and intentionally enables stories about abuse stemming from unbalanced power and a desire for control in a close relationship.  It also includes mechanics that allow you to deny the other player's agency.  There are included safety guidelines and links to outside safety tools, but caution is still advised.
